Flowers in the Caribbean
I am deeply amazed by the vast variety of Caribbean’s flora. I’ve recently visited Akumal, a small town in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico a 50 minute drive from Cancun and I was amazed by the numerous colors and variety of its landscape.
Everywhere I looked I saw different colors, shapes, sizes, types and species of tropical flora and fauna . Its well known that in the ecuator there are no seasons, still I was overwhelmed to experience its alluring fenomenon, literally the whole year round the flowers bloomed and the colors arise.
People often come to Riviera Maya for the holidays, depending where you stay the flora you get. If you stay at Cancun you’ll be surrounded by palm trees, if you go to cancun you’ll be surrounded by Bugambilia, if you stay at Akumal you’ll have jazmin all over but if you stay at Tulum you’ll mostly have wild purple and yellow flowers. Quintana Roo is well known by its honey, its different types of flowers convey in order to let bees be more creative and make a wide variety of honey.
I would recommend to stay at Akumal in a villa called Casa Maravilla, its location is very convenient since it offers the best of Riviera Maya, the powdery sandy beach and lush tropical gardens, plus it’s a perfect bird spotting location. This villa is very close to both Akumal and playa del Carmen, it has the perfect beach spot and you can practice many aquatic activities with no need for leaving the house.
