BEST Hawaii vaca spot, and cheap but nice hotel: Someone help?
Heyya asked:
My fiance and i have been dying to go to Hawaii for the past 3 years. I want to surprise him in August with tickets to Hawaii. I went on expedia/travelocity etc and they have packages… but its like $750/person. I’m sure if somone can give me the name & location of a hotel and i just called it would be tons cheaper. Also, wheres the best place TO vacation (we want quiet, nice beaches, a REAL getaway)

Create a video blog…instantly.
i’d suggest maui. it’s less touristy than the oahu. not as nice beaches but there’s one big great one (makena). there’s some pretty good snorkeling and great hiking places. if you don’t stay on the northwest part of the island (where all the richy rich hotels are) then you can get a decent price on a room. wailuku and kahului both have cheaper, smaller motel type places. they’re nice enough if all you want to do is sleep there.
you can rent a car if you’re not 21 (fyi, the actual age is usually 25 for most rental car companies) but you will have to pay an extra fee on top of the regular rental fee.
look into package vacations on southwest or aloha airlines websites. or even go to a travel agent and see what they can do for you. if you want to save big $$ the package deal is usually your best bet.
it really all depends on where you fly from. that often is the biggest expense.

I went after researching “Travel on $?? Per Day” which was at library and told me how to find $20 per day room with fridge, hot plate for some cooking. On advice of “Skipper” who owner the large house in Honolulu, I swam the beaches of the finest oceanfront hotels w/o staying in them. I pre-haerd bands and entertainment by listening outside beforehand.
Don Ho was still alive and performing. I called him,”Mr. Hawaii” because at the time he was most famous and BEST singer in the islands.
Then I heard “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and medley by K…..the more chubby Hawaiian entertainer…in 2 movies’ soundtracks.

Hawaii Vacations
Hi, we had family just come to visit, and they loved the Aqua Palms & Spa right in Waikiki, and they paid less than $100 a night, I just queried on their website, and they advertise $104. You can probably get it cheaper through Expedia though, here is their website:

Also THE BUS is the main mode of travel for alot of people here on Oahu. Thay even have a four-day pass, it will take you almost anywhere you want to go. you can purchase them at any ABC store, which are on every street corner in Waikiki practically, here is the website:
Good Luck and Have fun!

You CAN rent a car if you’re under 25 (not 21) you will just have to pay extra when you rent cars. If you want more seclusion, I would suggest Kuai or Maui, but places like that require rental cars to get around. In Oahu, you don’t need a car, since the bus system is very efficient, but it’s not as secluded as the other islands I’ve mentioned.
Package deals usually offer th best deals, as some give u airfare, airport transfer, rental car, hotel room, all with one price. Try Pleasant Hawaiian holidays, they sometimes offer pretty good deals. Have fun.
