Planning a Hawaii Vacation

There is nothing better than a Hawaiian vacation, packed with a lot of fun, to help prepare you for the year ahead. Hawaii’s beautiful beaches are just what you need to wash away the dusty cobwebs since your last holiday break, and a Hawaii vacation will recharge your batteries and get you ready to take on the world again.

Regardless of the time of year you will travel to the Hawaiian Islands, the temperature is moderate. You don’t have to worry about winter’s cold or summer’s heat in Hawaii. Any day of the year, temperatures are warm enough to swim but not so hot to go outside. If you happen to be a surfing enthusiast, the best waves generally occur through the winter season. Even on the warmest days of summer, the tradewinds provide cool breezes.

When planning a holiday to Hawaii, you might prefer to stay on one specific island or make plans to tour other islands.

Oahu is the most visited island in Hawaii. Even if it’s simply to change airplanes at the Honolulu airport, nearly all vacationers travel to Oahu. On Oahu, there’s the modern city of Honolulu, which is Hawaii’s state capitol. You’ll also find world famous Waikiki beach. Situated on the south end of the island are Pearl Harbor and the museum that honors the USS Arizona that was sunk at the beginning of the Second World War.

The island of Kauai is situated north of Oahu. Kauai is, geologically, the oldest of any of the Hawaiian Islands. There is much natural beauty to see in the island. Also, there are many different opportunities for intimate getaways and outdoor recreation.

South of Oahu is the island on Molokai, having a sizable number of native Hawaiians who’ve remained strongly connected to their heritage and traditional way of life.

Our next island in the chain is Lanai. This island doesn’t have even one traffic light and everyday life is slower here than on the other islands. On Lanai are two excellent golf courses.

The second largest island in the Islands is Maui. Some of the finest beaches in the world are found here. Maui also offers terrific opportunities to enjoy the whales that migrate through these waters each winter season.

The Big Island of Hawaii is, as you would assume, the biggest island in the group. For that matter it happens to be larger than all the other islands combined, and offers 11 of the 13 climates found on earth. Among its many attractions are mountains topped with snow, an active volcano and lovely sandy shorelines. The Big Island is a must on any list of Hawaiian vacation options and also good if you are searching for reasonably priced real estate.

In case you find it hard to select which island to spend time on, view them all with one of the cheap Hawaii cruises. You can depart Honolulu Harbor and spend a day and a half in each island. After dark, you don’t need to worry about a hotel, as you’ll have accommodations aboard your cruise ship.

Should you prefer to sleep on land, it’s easy to find a Hawaii condo rental. They range from condo and vacation homes, villas, bed and breakfast lodging and cabins.
